Onoto is one of the big names in the world of quality Pens! But the name itself has mysterious origins, particularly as the company itself is based in Britian. It is believed that the name is taken from a Japanese watchmaker known as Ono Tokusaburo.
In 1905 Thomas De La Rue & Co launched the first self-filling fountain pen guaranteed not to leak - the Onoto Patent Self-Filling Pen. Onoto soon became a well known brand with a wide range of innovative pen designs and filling systems which were eagerly sought by many dignitaries including Sir Winston Churchill, after whom one of the current line up of Onoto pens takes its name.
Hand-made in England, Onoto pens are today just as eagerly sought by collectors and writers alike.
